Sigmat is looking for a motivated Plant Manager to join our Production team in Leeds! The role holder will be responsible for all factory operations and for a team of approximately 100 colleagues.

Your key responsibilities include but are not limited to:  

  • Lead and continuously improve the overall Health, Safety and Environmental performance of the factory including the behaviour and attitudes of the factory team
  • As a member of the Leadership Team, help to lead the organisation, develop strategy, and contribute in all business areas
  • Develop a culture of continuous improvement and drive improvement activities in all areas of responsibility
  • Set key performance indicators to gauge performance and to highlight opportunities for improvement. Monitor and report manufacturing results against plans and budgets
  • Collaborate with senior colleagues in manufacturing, engineering and site operations to contribute effectively to the growth strategy of the business
  • Develop a rolling three-year strategic plan to ensure sufficient resource to meet current and future demand, and to achieve ambitious targets in productivity improvement and cost reduction
  • Ensure development plans for are in place for all personnel and that these support the three-year strategic plan
  • Develop strong collaborative relationships with internal suppliers and customers to ensure products are delivered on time to budget and that customer satisfaction is maintained
  • Promote an environment where teamwork, open communication, continuous improvement and excellent customer service are maintained
  • Any other task commensurate with this post

What we are looking for :

  • Previous experience working in a senior position in a world-class manufacturing environment
  • Experience of lean manufacturing implementation and continuous improvement
  • Experience of leading a large team and confidence in their own judgement
  • Excellent relationship building skills at all levels
  • P&L experience
  • Must be PC literate
  • Proactive thinking and acting
  • Customer focused
  • Must hold a valid driving licence
