As the Purchase Ledger Manager onsite, the role holder will manage the purchase ledger clerks and provide support to the Finance team with regards to the day to day running of the finance function.

This is a permanent, full-time position. 

Key responsibilities and accountabilities include (but are not limited to):

  • Manage the purchase ledger clerk team to provide quality service that aligns with the Finance vision

  • Ensure the team are managing and maintaining the ledger on a daily basis

  • Manage and ensure supplier invoices are matched against purchase orders and delivery notes and posting onto the ledger

  • Responsible for ensuring an up-to-date policy of compliance

  • Working closely with the purchasing function, to build strong relationships with external suppliers to ensure smooth operation of the payable process

  • Liaising with the Financial Controller to provide accurate information regarding cash flow

  • Review and development of processes to ensure best practice

  • Process large volumes of invoices and matching up orders

  • Check invoices in query into the system with appropriate query type

  • Reconciliation of supplier statements

  • Query chasing and resolution

  • Organise supplier payment runs for allocated accounts

  • Review expenses posted to Sage and pay accordingly

  • Review credit cards posted to Sage and pay accordingly

  • Liaise with audit and ensure requests are adhered to in a timely manner

  • Any other task commensurate with this post

What we are looking for: 

  • Managerial experience

  • Experience dealing with a high volume of invoices

  • Have experience using Sage 200 would be preferred but not essential

  • Good attention to detail 

  • Excellent communication skills
