We are currently looking to recruit a Procurement Apprentice to join our Contract Support Centre, Leeds. The role holder will assist the team with all the Company's purchasing activities.

This is a permanent, full time position.

What the role involves : 

  • Supporting the administration function across the Procurement team
  • Enter, update or retrieve purchasing and contract information accurately on paper and through electronic records
  • Help resolve ordering and billing related queries from suppliers or internal stakeholders
  • Ensure the stock database is accurate and regularly maintained
  • Obtain quotes from the Company's preferred supplier list
  • Researching parts on supplier websites and stock catalogues
  • Ensuring the accuracy of items purchased match business requirements
  • Ensuring all trace documentation are received and filed correctly
  • Monitor purchase orders to maintain delivery schedules
  • Resolve delivery issues raised by liaising with suppliers quickly and efficiently
  • Good timekeeping adhering to project deadlines
  • Cover for other team members when absent
  • Take a proactive approach to ensure best practice is maintained and built upon on a daily basis
  • Control of the Company 4 Week Look Ahead [4WLA] Schedule
  • Control of weekly hire schedules and monitoring same. Advise colleagues where items could be considered to be a purchase rather than a hire
  • Any other task commensurate with this post

What we are looking for :

  • Willingness to attend college to undertake a Business Administration Level 3 Apprenticeship 
  • Attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to communicate at all levels - verbal and written
  • Experience in working effectively in teams
  • Ability to process orders at a consistent and efficient speed
  • Excellent IT skills
