Breakthrough Deal Brought To Fruition
Months of hard work paid off after Sigmat’s business development team saw off stiff competition to secure its first deal with the Torsion Group.
And, several months on from that initial success, the company has secured its position with an on-time, on-budget outcome at Bailey Street in Sheffield, where Torsion are building 220 student residential units.
Andrew Warren, Senior Estimator at Sigmat, said: “We had been looking for an opportunity to work with Torsion for some time and were delighted to get our first chance, moving on site just before Christmas.
“Five months on and the entire team has worked exceptionally hard to deliver on the original promise, and I am confident that we have done exactly that thanks to an incredibly professional project, the result of a great working relationship between ourselves and Leeds based Torsion.”
The Torsion Group is a privately owned independent development and construction company, only established in March 2015, which now delivers large accommodation based schemes including student accommodation.
“Sigmat was charged with providing the Light Gauge Steel Frame (LGSF) for seven of the structure’s eight floors which comprise 73 studios and 147 larger residential units.
“Our work on the structure is now complete and it has been a pleasure working with Torsion on what we hope will be the first of many projects still to come.”
