Sigmat Agree Sponsorship Deal with Exeter Chiefs Rugby
We are delighted to announce our partnership with Devon based premiership rugby team the Exeter Chiefs as one of the team’s official sponsors for the 2021/22 season.
Sigmat team have been on site for the construction of a high-profile Marriott Hotel on the club’s Sandy Park site. Keen to put something back into the local community, the opportunity to sponsor the Chiefs is an ideal way to support grass roots rugby as clubs start to emerge from the pandemic.
The new nine-storey, Marriott International Hotel, which will be the largest commercial hotel in the region, will house 250 bedrooms along with ground floor leisure facilities and a spectacular rooftop cocktail bar with stunning views across the River Exe estuary and beyond.
Works are set to be completed in December this year and Sigmat have been involved in delivering an all-encompassing offsite MMC solution including; 4-levels of hot rolled steel transfer structure with Sigmat’s own SFS infill, 5-levels of Sigmat Light Gauge Steel Framing with Sigmat proprietary SigDeck 180mm decking throughout the whole scheme, including provision of roofing, lift / stair cores and staircases.
The heart of the scheme also includes a unique glazed link bridge which offers seamless access from the hotel reception direct to Sandy Park, allowing guests easy entry to the stadium on match days.
Lisa Duncan, Sales & Marketing Director, said: "We are thrilled to welcome Sigmat on board as a new sponsor on the club's official playing kit.
"In what are still challenging times for us all, it's great that we are able to team up with a company like Sigmat. They are an innovative, forward-thinking business and, we feel, a great fit for Exeter Rugby Club.
"Already we have strong communications with them through their links with the new Sandy Park Hotel and we believe this will only grow over time. It is a partnership that we feel will benefit both parties."
Sigmat CEO Mark Eburne commented: ‘We are excited and extremely proud to announce our partnership with the Exeter Chiefs. The sponsorship signifies our commitment to both the Club and the people of Exeter. The Sandy Park project has really enhanced our growing leisure portfolio and the team at the Exeter Chiefs have been a pleasure to work with throughout. We share their ambition to grow Rugby in the UK and hope our partnership helps extend this message across the South West and beyond.’
