Sigmat was awarded the light gauge steel frame contract to develop 199 new homes for mid-market rent in Leith on behalf of Link Housing Association.
Delivered in partnership with Cruden Homes and the Teague Group, the 7N Architects-designed homes are located on brownfield land at Salamander Place between Leith Links and the docks.
The project formed part of a wider Leith masterplan which brought up to 600 homes to the industrial area and that the homes contributed to the ongoing regeneration of the area.
Marcus Wood, Chief Operating Manager for Sigmat said: “This was an important project to work on, and once more demonstrated the cost effectiveness of our light gauge steel frame system in being able to respond to tight budgets to deliver affordable homes. The vital role offsite construction plays in reducing the overall timescale of the finished build delivered important cost savings here.”
