Next up in our people in the spotlight series are Wieslaw and Janusz Pelczarski – two brothers who have been working in our Leeds Manufacturing Facility for 14 years!
Meet Wieslaw:
1.What is your favourite thing about working at Sigmat?I like people here and the working atmosphere.
2.Tell us a bit about your background before joining Sigmat.
Before joining Sigmat, I worked in a glass factory in Poland as a machine operator.
3.Can you tell us a little about your current role and history of working at Sigmat. I started here as a panel assembly general operative and in 2014 moved onto Roll Forming where I received all the necessary training from Italian engineers. Now I am a Roll Forming Operative- setting up the machine and making sure all final products are correct.
5.How would you describe Sigmat’s culture? I really like the high level or health and safety and discipline – working in a machinery environment, safety should always come first and I am pleased to see that here.
6.What do you like about Sigmat?
Communication here is key – I like that we are always kept as informed as possible about what is happening in the wider business.
7.What’s the best part of working for Sigmat?
I have a fantastic manager, Marcin Sikora, who I really enjoy working with!
8.How do you like to spend your spare time?
I love watching TV especially politics related programmes.
Meet Janusz:
Before joining Sigmat I was a joiner, I worked as a milling machine operative and a lathe machine operative. I also designed and built wooden stairs so I have quite varied experience!
I first joined Sigmat in 2008 as a saw operator, after 2 years I moved onto Panel Assembly line, then I was picking and packing then became a training team leader. My current position is a Senior Operative.
Sigmat’s culture is all about health and safety of their employees – it is great to see that the business is always working to improve the factory equipment. I really enjoy being able to access the information system which keeps me updated with the workload.
Sigmat has a great team spirit and I feel part of the team – we have strong relationships between co-workers and the teammates!
In my spare time, I like watching TV especially motorisation programmes which keeps me updated with all car novelties.
