Yorkshire providers appointed for new Herschel Street Project in Slough

London-based Mid Group has appointed Sigmat (head-quartered in Yorkshire) to provide the LGSF scheme alongside a Yorkshire-based architect firm for upcoming Herschel Street in Slough.

Sigmat were awarded the Herschel Street contract to provide the Light Gauge Steel Framing for the eight-storey residential scheme. The development will feature studio, one, two and three-bedroom apartments with several eighth-floor penthouses, delivered with offsite technology.  Utilising the Sigmat system, construction will take place offsite in the Leeds Manufacturing Facility, with panels delivered to site and craned into place for installation.

Herschel Street development will provide 238 homes for first-time buyers, families and professionals. 15% of the apartments are classed as affordable or shared ownership homes. The Sigmat team are due on site in Third Quarter 2020, with the scheme projected to take 42 weeks for installation.

James Walker, Pre-Contracts Director at Sigmat, commented “The main benefit of the Sigmat System is the programme surety while maintaining quality. Alongside the accuracy and minimal disruption to the local community, it is an ideal Modern Method of Construction for busy city centres.”
