Sigmat awarded two further projects for sustainable pioneers CITU

Following a successful scheme at South Accommodation Road, the Sigmat team have been appointed for two further sustainable residential blocks for CITU. The multi-award winning Yorkshire developer, CITU, pioneers a sustainable approach to house building. Constructing eco-friendly, energy efficient houses and apartments in what were essentially run-down urban areas. The previous scheme in their Climate Innovation District in Leeds was built on a desolate riverside site and the transformation has been remarkable. Creating modern, sustainable communities which put people first.

Following this, the Sigmat team are working on a second block within the Climate Innovation District, due on site the first week of October. The £2.8m project for Sigmat will deliver 2,360 lm of sigmat LGSF panels.

Announcing plans for their first suburban development in Kirkstall, the Sigmat team have also been appointed to work with the CITU team once again to deliver the structural frame for the upcoming residential block which will be located canal-side by an old quarry in Kirkstall. Residents there will have quick and easy access into Leeds City Centre, protecting CITU’s sustainability credentials. Sigmat team are due on site beginning of October 2022 for a 10-week programme.

Stephen Parker, Contracts Manager for Sigmat, commented “We are proud that Sigmat have been selected as CITU’s preferred MMC partner to deliver these highly sustainable residential units. As a company with sustainability at the core of our ethos, partnering with a leading contractor in this area is fantastic step forward and demonstrates the significant green benefits of constructing with modern methods of construction, and in particular LGSF.”
